Vocational Nursing

SCMC’s Vocational Nursing Program (LVN) is a thirteen-month long program which consist of 1698-hours of comprehensive theory and related learning/clinical experience. The program requires four (4) terms of academic work and related learning/clinical experience which meets the Basic Curriculum guidelines of the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technician.

The curriculum content of the Vocational Nursing Program includes theory and related learning/clinical experience which will help develop the knowledge, skills and abilities essential to the safe and effective practice of nursing that will equipped our graduates to become safe, knowledgeable and hardworking license vocational nurses as they care for clients of all ages in the health care settings.

In order to graduate from this program and be eligible to take the state licensure examination or the NCLEX - PN, a student has to complete 1698-hour of theory and related learning/clinical experience.
